Hello, lovely ladies! As the chill of winter sweeps across the UK, it’s time to think not just about keeping warm, but also about stepping out in style. Winter footwear can be both functional and fashionable, and I’m here to help you navigate the world of boots, shoes, and everything in between. Some boots and shoes that will take you through the season. Here are some expert tips on what winter footwear to choose while still staying stylish. Grab your favourite cuppa, and let’s dive into some guiding principles for styling your winter footwear!

Cowboy boot is a hot trend

Now you know I don’t always advocate a trend – so beware! Will you continue to wear those cowboy boots into the next few seasons. But try to invest wisely. I bought a gorgeous pair from Walk in wardrobe, and I adore them! For more tips from me check out another blog I wrote on winter boots here

Embrace the Knee-High

Knee-high boots are making a strong comeback, and they are perfect for adding a touch of chic to your winter wardrobe. They pair beautifully with skirts, dresses, and skinny jeans. Stay safe with a classic black or brown leather for a versatile look or go bold with a pop of colour or a fun pattern. But I think we are all too quick to stay with a black boot and it can be so boring! Think about this more broadly and try to introduce some colour to your wardrobe through your footwear. It is so much more interesting

The Magic of Ankle Boots

Ankle boots are your winter BFFs—they are incredibly versatile and can be dressed up or down. Pair them with tailored trousers for a polished office look or throw them on with a cozy oversized sweater and leggings for a weekend stroll. Choose styles with a slight heel for added elegance, or flat ones for all-day comfort.

Lofty heights

We are all in our flats far too long and it is time to get those heels out again. You just can’t deny that adding a heel to your dressier outfits makes it look elegant and much sexier. There are some options with added comfort inside for those of you that feel your feet will be too sore. Check out Kurt Geiger for some options

Experiment with Textures

Winter is the perfect time to play with different textures. Suede, leather, and even velvet can add depth to your outfit. Don’t be afraid to mix and match! A soft suede boot can look stunning with a wool coat, while a glossy leather ankle boot can elevate a casual outfit instantly. There is lots of suede in the shops this season and it is a good investment. Be sure to use a protective spray so that they last you for years to come

Accessorize Wisely

Don’t forget to accessorize! A lovely scarf, a stylish beanie, or a statement handbag can tie your whole look together. Just remember to keep your accessories in harmony with your footwear. A pair of chunky boots might call for a more rugged bag, while sleek ankle boots could be complemented by a chic leather tote. Colour in your shoes is a super way of sandwiching your outfit….if there is an isolated colour somewhere else, match your shoes to pull it together

Know Your Occasion

Always consider where you’re going and what the set-up is going to be. Are you walking there and home again? Will you be sitting down in a nice restaurant or on the go for a day of shopping with friends?.

If you decide to wear heels I am a big fan of bringing a flat pair with me to get there in and change into. Here’s a cute pair

Winter footwear styling doesn’t have to be daunting. With these guiding principles, you can step out in boots and shoes that will take you through the season, feeling comfortable and looking fabulous!

Remember, the most important accessory you can wear is your smile, so strut your stuff and enjoy the beautiful winter days ahead!

Happy styling! 🌟
